Jinwon Park

Jinwon helped many projects while she was working as an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan Lab for more than one year. She majored in Psychology at Sungkyunkwan University. She wanted to investigate the physical and mental functions of human individuals. She was also interested in clinical psychology and the understanding of pain and emotions.

Minie Jung

Minie was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. She did a double major in Genetic engineering and Convergence software (Samsung Convergence Software Course, SCSC) as Sungkyunkwan University. She helped many fMRI experiments (almost 3 or 4) in the lab. She left the lab because she wants to major bioinformatics. I wish you the best of luck, Minie!

Jongyun Jeong

Jongyun was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. He is an undergrad student at Sungkyunkwan University. He majors in Biology and Convergence Software (Samsung Convergence Software Course, SCSC). He left the lab to finish his mandatory military service. We hope to see him again after his military service!

Yejong Yoo

Yejong was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. He is studying Biology at Taylor University. His research interest involves exploring objective biological markers for both nociceptive and comprehensive pain and finding a way to apply the biological markers to diagnose the sources of the pain and quantitatively measure the various pains. He went back to the US to continue his study at Taylor University. We hope to see him again next summer!

Yelin Lee

Yelin was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. She was majoring in molecular biology at Dankook University. She wanted to study human psychology using scientific methods. Her goal was to help patients through the understanding of brain mechanisms of cognitive and affective processes. She is now working as an RA at Prof. Hyoung Kim’s lab (just next door)!

JeongWon Shin

Jeongwon was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. She is passionate about studying Psychology and Neuroscience. She wants to understand individuals’ psychological contexts by examining their brain activity. She is also interested in developing methods to make a “mentally-healthy” society.

Chanhoo Kum

Chanhoo was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. He majors in Biomedical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University. He is intererested in Neuroscience, especially decoding sensory imagination. He is currently assisting a research on developing a new pain rating scale.

Catherine Cho

Catherine was a postdoc in the Cocoan lab. She was interested in identifying neural markers associated with affective and cognitive constructs and developing a framework for psychological components.

SeongJae Park

Seongjae was an undergrad research assistant in the Cococan lab. He is majoring in psychology and philosophy at Sogang University. His research interest includes Emotion, Decision making and Social Cognition.

Taenyun Kim

Taenyun was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. He majored Psychology at Sungkyunkwan University. He is interested in human decision-making processes and social cognition, and their neural basis. He also wants to know about the interference of pains when persons make choices. His goal is to identify the mechanisms of human decision-making processes and find the way to improve them for better outcomes.

Jin Oh

Jin was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab in 2018. She is majoring in neuroscience at Duke University. She’s interested to see how computational models could help pain and emotion field in neuroscience.

Sangeun Yeom

Sangeun was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab in 2018. She is double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology at Johns Hopkins University. She particularly wants to focus on systems neuroscience and clinical psychology. She is interested in mental illnesses and wants to investigate how neuroscience and clinical psychology can work together to diagnose and treat mental illnesses.

Seeyun Lee

Seeyun was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. He is majoring in Biomedical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University. He is interested in cognitive processes of pain and placebo effects. He wants to investigate placebo effects in medical situations. He left the lab to finish his mandatory military service. We hope to see him again after his military years!

Jaeyoung Shin

Jaeyoung was an undergrad research assistant in the Cocoan lab. She is majoring in marine bioscience at Korea Maritime and Ocean University. She is mainly interested in mental disorder and neurological disease. She also wants to study computational models for neuroscience.

Yanghi Kim
email

Yanghi was a research assistant in the Cocoan lab. She majored in Italian and minored in Spanish at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She has been interested in the mind-body-brain interactions regarding mental disorders since she was an undergraduate. She joined the Cocoan lab in order to find the way to compute and simulate the brain activities which cause mental disorders such as anxiety, depression and PTSD.
